Paxos in Ionian islands

Paxos (Greek: Paxi) is a beautiful, relatively unspoiled, islands just 32 miles away from the South of Corfu. The particular island enjoys the tranquility that some other islands usually do not. It is the smallest of the Ionian Islands (the Heptanese). Paxos has nearby another smaller island called Antipaxos. Antipaxos is famous for its wine and two of the finest sand beaches in the Ionian Sea. The main town of Paxoi, and the seat of the municipality, is Gaios. In Greek mythology, Poseidon created the island by striking Corfu with his trident, so that he and wife Amphitrite could have some peace and quiet.
